Our monthly meetings have started the year well and the March meeting took us behind the scenes at Kew with John Hughes.

On 16th April we had our Spring Mini Show at the Parish Hall at 8 pm. The meeting was well attended and successful and much enjoyed by all.

Sunday 26th April marked the first Coach Outing of the year to RHS Garden Hyde Hall, which went well despite the poor weather. Our plant sale in May was successful as usual raising 500.

On Tuesday 18th June we hold our second Mini Show of the year at 8pm in the Parish Hall and all are welcome. Click here for full particulars : Summer Mini Show

Aims of the Society

To encourage, improve and extend the cultivation of flowers, fruit and vegetables by arranging talks and shows.

There are monthly talks by guest speakers on a variety of gardening and allied topics and outings Outings are arranged to places of interest.

Society members have planted bulbs and plants in the grass verges, trees and shrubs around Shenfield and maintain a planter in the Hutton Road.

We invite you to join us at our Meetings , which are held every third Tuesday of the month (excluding July, August and December).

Meetings are held in Shenfield Parish Hall, Hutton Road at 8 pm.

We hold Spring, Summer and Autumn Shows at which anyone is encouaged to exhibit.

Gardening advice is freely available at our meetings and shows.

The first Summer Show was held in July 1948, the Spring Show was launched in 1969 and the Autumn Show in 1973. Various trophies have been purchased by the Society or by individual members over the years. The Shows are open to both members and non-members. Special classes for children only are also arranged and additionally there are classes for those interessted in cookery, photography and floral art.
